Story
It’s 1963 and Dame Dorothea Dosserdale School for Girls has a proud tradition of fostering free spirits from all walks of life. So it’s a crushing blow when the new Headmistress turns out to be a reactionary tyrant with strict Victorian values – and top of her hit list are the two Sixth-Formers accused of “Unnatural Behaviour” in the Art Room… But hope is revived by a glamorous Games Mistress known as ‘Miss Givings’ and it’s hockey sticks to the fore in an all-out battle to save the school and the course of true love.

Reviews
“Crush has wit and originality, heart and soul, and of course some cracking songs – it it were a GCSE it would be an A from me. ” Gill Sutherland, Stratford Herald
“This new musical comedy has all the heart-warming elements of those noble and charming girls’ boarding school novels of yesteryear; laced with hearty humour, sing-able songs and nifty dance routines.” Chris Eldon Lee, What’s On – Warwickshire ★★★★★
“Light, frothy and nostalgic fun with a vibrant cast and 20 well-crafted, catchy tunes – Navy Knicks, a tap-dancing, hockey-stick wielding homage to PE, is a definite earworm. Lashings of jolly good fun.” Catherine Vonledebur, Coventry Telegraph ★★★★
“A particular favourite is the hockey number ‘Navy Knicks’ where Kirsty Malpass as Miss Givings excels. Rosemary Ashe is a vocally stunning Miss Bleacher and ‘The Future Mothers of the Future Sons of England’ is a triumph.” Jenny Anthill, Broadwayworld.com
“Crush taps into the subversive undercurrents of its source and brings them to the fore, producing a show that’s boldly queer and a little bit crazy, yet with enough innocent exuberance to make it family-friendly, too. Rosemary Ashe gets a sublime exit song that’s worth the price of admission alone.” Alex Ramon, British Theatre Guide
“This delightfully quirky coming-of-age musical boasts an impressive musical score by composer and lyricist Kath Gotts. A thoroughly enjoyable show for a great evening out.” Carolin Kopplin, UK Theatre Network
